Does our enquiry count as a binding booking?
No, submitting an enquiry through our website form is non-binding and does not constitute a reservation. Your booking only becomes binding once we have confirmed it in writing.
What is included in the holiday price?
Our inclusive services include meals and soft drinks, childcare for children aged 3 and over, the 1,000 m² Playarena, our summer and autumn activity programme for children and teens, as well as the indoor pool, outdoor hot tub and saunas. Wi-Fi and parking directly outside the hotel are also included. Charges apply for certain additional services.
How are room rates calculated?
The rates shown are per adult, per night, based on a minimum occupancy of two adults, and include VAT at the statutory rate. Tourist tax is charged separately. Your personalised offer will include the total price for your family.
Are there any special offers for families?
Yes, during selected periods we offer deals such as free stays for children or 4-for-3 offers, where you stay for four nights and pay for three. You can find the applicable travel dates and terms on our special offers page.
What is your cancellation policy?
Unless otherwise agreed, the following cancellation charges apply under our terms and conditions: Cancellation is free of charge up to three months before arrival. After that, cancellations up to one month before arrival incur a charge of 40%, cancellations up to one week before arrival incur a charge of 70%, and cancellations during the final week incur a charge of 90% of the total
package price. Please also check the terms agreed for your booking.
What happens if we arrive late or leave early?
The room rate will be charged as confirmed in your booking.
Is a deposit required?
A deposit of 10% of the total holiday price is due within 14 days.

We accept cash and Visa, Mastercard or Maestro cards.

Our family-run hotel for families with children is in Vorderlanersbach in the Tux Valley, in the heart of the Zillertal Alps. Our address is Vorderlanersbach 286, 6293 Tux, Austria.
What altitude is the hotel at?
Our hotel is 1,250 m above sea level.
How do we get there by car?
Take the Zillertal exit off the A12 motorway and follow the B169 to Mayrhofen. At the far end of the village, turn towards the Tux Valley and drive through Finkenberg to Vorderlanersbach. Our hotel is on the left, shortly after the village sign. In winter, we recommend winter driving equipment and snow chains.
Can we travel by train or plane?
The nearest railway station is Mayrhofen im Zillertal, approximately 12 km away. From there, you can reach us by local bus or taxi. Innsbruck, Salzburg and Munich airports are all options for travelling by plane. We are happy to book your airport transfer on request.
Is parking available at the hotel?
Yes, free parking is available directly outside the hotel. Garage parking is available for an additional charge.
Can we get there by public transport?
Yes, take the train to Mayrhofen im Zillertal station, then the bus to the Testerhof.
Is there a shuttle service from the railway station or airport?
No, there is no shuttle service.

What time can we check in and when do we need to check out?
Unless otherwise agreed, your room will be available from 3 pm on the day of arrival. On the day of departure, please vacate your room by 10 am.
What should we do if we are arriving late?
If you will be arriving after 6 pm, please arrange your late arrival with us in advance so we can make the necessary arrangements.
Is late check-out available for an additional charge?
Yes, you can arrange this with us when you book.
Can we bring our pet?
Pets are only allowed by prior agreement and may incur an additional charge. Pets are not permitted in the restaurant, communal lounges or spa areas. You must have liability insurance that covers any damage caused by your pet.
What rooms and room types are available for families?
You can choose from family rooms and suites with two, three or four rooms. The Grübelspitze family room offers 28 m² of space for two to three guests, while the Torspitze suite offers 38 m² for two to four guests. For larger families, the Ahornspitze offers 65 m² for up to seven guests, while the Olperer and Sommerberg each accommodate up to six guests.
Are there rooms with separate bedrooms?
Yes, the two-room Torspitze and Wanglspitze suites have a parents’ bedroom and a children’s bedroom. The Ahornspitze suite has a triple bedroom, a double bedroom and a living room with a sofa bed. The Sommerberg suite has three double bedrooms and a living room.

Yes, Wi-Fi is included in your stay.
Is there a fridge?
Family rooms, family suites and apartments have a fridge. Other amenities include satellite TV and an in-room safe.

We provide baby monitors, bed guards, changing mats, nappy bins, bottle warmers, bibs, toilet training seats, potties and children’s bathrobes, among other items. Pushchairs and child carrier backpacks are also available.

Which meals are included?
Enjoy a breakfast buffet with regional specialities and freshly squeezed orange juice, packed lunches you can put together yourselves, and an afternoon buffet of sweet and savoury snacks. In the evening, we serve a five-course dinner with a choice of dishes and a salad buffet, alongside a separate children’s buffet.
Which drinks are included in the price?
Soft drinks such as fruit juices, fizzy drinks and mineral water are included, along with tea and speciality coffees. These are served to you in the restaurant and at the bar. You can also help yourselves to soft drinks from the drinks dispenser throughout the day.
Are there separate meals for children?
Yes, children have their own buffet. From Monday to Friday, we offer supervised lunches in the Playarena and supervised evening meals in the restaurant as part of our childcare programme. There is also a playroom right next to the restaurant.
Can we take food with us on day trips?
Yes, you can put together packed lunches for the whole family to take on your day trips.

Our age-appropriate childcare is available for children aged 3 and over and is included in your stay. Trained childcare staff organise a varied programme of games, arts and crafts, and outdoor adventures.
What if my child does not want to stay on their own?
Parents are welcome to join their children in the Playarena at any time.
What can we expect at the Playarena?
The 1,000 m² Playarena features an eight-metre-high soft play structure, a high ropes course, a climbing wall, a giant trampoline, a bouncy castle, slides, a ball pit and a children’s cinema. There are also sports and activities such as basketball, football, an interactive Multiball wall and an arts and crafts area.
How do we get to the Playarena?
The Playarena is right next to the Testerhof and can be reached via a connecting corridor, keeping you sheltered whatever the weather. Our guests enjoy exclusive direct access. The Playarena itself is also used by guests staying at other hotels in the area.
Is there an outdoor playground?
Yes, our hotel’s own playground is right next to the sun terrace. It features a large play tower, climbing equipment, two slides, a water tower with a pulley-operated well and a water play table.
What can we do in bad weather?
The Playarena offers plenty of space to play, climb and burn off energy. You can also enjoy our indoor pool and family spa area.
Is there an indoor and an outdoor pool?
Yes, our indoor pool is open all year round. The indoor relaxation pool connects to the outdoor hot tub via a swim-through passage. The indoor pool is heated to 30 °C and is 1.12 m deep. You can also relax in the outdoor hot tub in winter, with the water heated to 30 °C.
Can children use the sauna?
Yes, our sauna facilities are open to the whole family. You can relax in the traditional Finnish sauna or the Swiss pine bio sauna. The spa area also includes a steam room, a shower grotto and a relaxation room with panoramic views.
Is use of the spa area included in the price?
Use of the indoor pool, outdoor hot tub and saunas is included in your stay. The Hydrojet dry water massage bed is available for an additional charge.
Is there an outdoor swimming pool or a lake for swimming nearby?
The nearest outdoor swimming pool is 5 km away.
What does the free adventure programme include?
In summer and autumn, the activities in our adventure programme are free for children and teens staying at the Testerhof. Activities include canyoning, paragliding, climbing, cave trekking and campfires. Which activities are suitable for your child depends on the programme and the participation requirements.
When does the summer programme run?
Our summer adventure programme runs from late June to mid-September. You can find details of individual activities in the weekly programme. Outdoor activities may depend on the weather.
Who leads the outdoor adventures?
Our organised tours and activities are led by qualified guides, so you can explore the outdoors with experienced people by your side.
What walking options are there for families?
Around our hotel, you will find walks of varying difficulty, guided tours and the Tux Welten themed trails. One example is the adventure trail along the Tuxbach stream from Vorderlanersbach to Hintertux, with play areas, water activities and climbing stations along the way.
Can we hire bicycles or electric mountain bikes?
You can hire bicycles from local bike shops. Electric mountain bike hire is available for guests aged 10 and over at an additional charge.
Is there a guest card with benefits for cable cars and admission to attractions?
Yes, a guest card is available. In summer and autumn, stays of 7 days or more include the Zillertal Aktivcard, which gives you one return cable car trip per day, free admission to outdoor swimming pools and free use of public transport in the Zillertal valley.
Which ski area is nearby?
The Testerhof is close to the Zillertal 3000 ski area. Our local mountain, the Rastkogel, is linked to the Eggalm and Penken ski areas. The Hintertux Glacier also offers skiing opportunities for your holiday.
Are ski lessons available for children?
Yes, children’s ski lessons are available, with groups organised by ability, as well as a Bambini ski course for three- and four-year-olds. On the Bambini course, little ones learn with professional ski instructors using a magic carpet lift and ski carousel. Supervised lunches on the mountain are also available as part of the children’s ski courses.
What facilities and services are available for our ski holiday?
You will have your own ski locker with a ski boot dryer. Ski and helmet hire is available nearby. There is also a free sports bus, and you can conveniently book your ski pass at reception.
What can we do in winter apart from downhill skiing?
Around the Testerhof, you can go tobogganing, winter walking, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing. The cross-country ski trail runs right past the hotel. You will also find toboggan runs, toboggan hire and toboggan taxis in the surrounding area.
Is there a free ski bus?
Yes, a free ski bus is available for our guests.

Yes, ski hire is available just a two-minute walk from the hotel.
